Cultural
and Entertainment Apple Valley is known for entertainment throughout the year with several town festivals including The Apple Valley Round-up Days, Jazz Night Street Fairs and two craft fairs.
Two new movie theaters, 3 museums in Victorville including the famed California Route 66 museum and a Performing Arts Center at the Victor Valley College. The San Bernardino County Fair brings fun and entertainment to the area every May. Medical In the Victor Valley area are three hospitals including a cardiac intensive unit. St. Mary's Medical Center in Apple Valley is part of the well-known St. Joseph's Heath System and offers an array of medical and surgical services. There are also 4 urgent care centers and more than 240 physicians in the area.
Shopping
shopping includes the Mall of Victor Valley and 4 new large shopping
complexes in Apple Valley which is home to a fine collection of department stores, shops and eateries. Costco, Target and Super Target, K-Mart , Wal-Mart and Super K-Mart and home improvement stores like Home Depot and Lowe's round out the shopping options. The Outlet stores in Barstow are just under a one-hour drive.
Transportation Apple Valley is near California Interstate 15 which makes traveling to the metro areas very easy. The Ontario International Airport is located less than 50 miles south for easy airline travel
Amtrak and the Greyhound Bus Line provides transportation out of the neighboring city of Victorville daily.
Recreation
Apple Valley is home to 14 parks, including an Equestrian Center
(horse friendly community), an 18-hole, and 27 hole golf course at
Del Webb's Sun City in South Apple Valley. The Town Hall Recreation center offers many adult classes including computer programs, arts & crafts, and music. Apple Valley is also a close drive to some of the Mojave Desert's most spectacular offerings, as well as California's unmatched mountain Ski Resorts, beautiful beaches, and historic Palm Springs. A neighbor to ghost towns like the famed Skidoo and Calico, the salt flats of Bad Water Basin and the Mojave Narrows Regional Park, which contains 840 acres of camping, fishing, boating, hiking, horseback riding and hot-air balloon rides. For the sports fan, the Maverick Baseball Stadium is home to the nearby town of Adelanto's very own minor league team.
